The VEXos Utility program simplifies updating VEX IQ hardware. All of the VEX IQ Smart Devices (Robot Brain, Controller, Smart Motor, and sensors) contain their own internal processors and run special software. This software is what allows for advanced programming features. Feb 21, 2017 To control the VEX Cortex controller we must use a software. In this episode we would download the software from the VEX site. In the course we take a step-by-step approach to moving, turning and using sensors. A big part of the course is about programming and using the RobotC software for the Cortext controller.

Restore a VEX Cortex or Joystick - Use the VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility to restore a VEX Cortex or Joystick. Before using the Upgrade Utility, you will need to install the correct VEXnet Serial USB Driver based on your PC’s Operating System.
| VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility v3.2.5 (zip, 04-30-12) | The VEXnet Firmware Upgrade Utility overwrites the Master Code on the Cortex Microcontroller or a VEXnet Joystick to the latest 3.x version. The 3.0 or higher version requires a VEX Serial USB Driver installed on your PC. The Upgrade Tool with instructions and the Drivers with instructions are contained in this 1 zip file. Also, the Upgrade Utility Tool will overwrite any User Code in the Cortex Microcontroller with Default Code. |

Restore a VEX PIC Microcontroller - Use the IFI Loader 4VEX to restore a VEX PIC Microcontroller. Before using the IFI Loader, you will need to install the correct Prolific USB Driver on your PC based on your PC’s Operating System and you will need a Programming Hardware Kit. Use the “VEX Master Code ver7” to restore Master Code in the VEX PIC Microcontroller. Use the “VEX Default Firmware” to restore Default/User Code in the VEX PIC Microcontroller.
